The flavour profile is made of delicious cherry and chocolate. The tannin structure is smooth and well integrated with a finish that is spicy and long.
The grapes for this red wine come from Ovello, an absolute top vineyard in Barbaresco, but where mainly Nebbiolo is grown. A special place, which is actually not known for Merlot at all, but the vines were already planted in the 90s and therefore produce particularly well-structured and finesse-rich Merlot wines. This Langhe convinces with its fresh fruit and animating acidity, which makes the wine very drinkable. A wine that is simply fun to drink! With its opulent, rich plum aroma and light but well- structured tannin, it is also a real tip for the barbecue season.
The winery Cascina Morassino was founded in 1984 by Mauro Bianco, but the three previous generations already produced wine with grapes from the Ovello crù: it is therefore an example of family continuity in the management of the company. Cascina Morassino, now run by Mauro’s son, Roberto Bianco, has only four and a half hectares of life, three and a half of which are located in the Ovello subzone and one hectare in the municipality of Neive, subzone Cottà.
