The NV Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Chinato is a unique aromatic wine that combines Barolo with cane sugar, distilled fruit alcohol, and a blend of spices, including China Calisaia, rhubarb, gentian, coriander, liquorice, and vanilla. Originally created in the late 19th century for medicinal purposes, it was revived in the early 1990s by Giovanni Cordero di Montezemolo, leading to a limited production that has become a niche specialty. With an alcohol content of just over 16%, it serves excellently as an aperitif or a digestive. The Cordero di Montezemolo family, with a rich heritage dating back 19 generations, is committed to preserving the land and traditions while embracing organic practices for sustainable viticulture.
