2023 Prendina Pinot Bianco
£23.00

Body wine but fresh and fruity with a clear and clean taste.

The vineyards are located between 90 and 100 metres above sea level with a south-east exposure. Breeding Cord Ran. Limestone moray soil with the presence of gravel and sand.

Luciano’s passion for the wine world kept intensifying with his son Giulietto and led to the acquisition of Prendina in 1958, an estate in Monzambano. Giulietto, a failed surveyor and keen radioamateur, turned a passion into a manufacturing activity in the 70s. The achievement of the DOC in 1971 further reinforced the family activity and confirmed Custoza among the Italian quality wines. Also, Prendina gained more importance as the first wine labeled Prendina was bottled: a Merlot which became the wine of the house of Gualtiero Marchesi’s famous restaurant. Nonetheless, the winery remained a secondary activity as Giulietto primarily used it to entertain guests, visitors and stakeholders of the leather industry.

Pairing Suggestions: Sashimi, risotto, pasta first courses, baked fish. Flat proposals: Risotto with zucchini shrimp and zucchini flowers. Whole-grain spaghetti with ricotta, broccoli and crispy speck.

Maturation: The harvested grapes are pressed and the must obtained, after clarification, is fermented at 16 ° C for about two weeks. The wine remains in contact with the lees and is stored in such a way as to avoid malolactic fermentation. It is bottled as early as December and distributed starting in January.
