2021 Lisini Rosso di Montalcino 0,75lt.
Clear medium dense ruby. Opens with slightly spicy notes of thyme and coriander seeds, then fresh cherry. Quite rough tannins on the palate make the wine seem nervous and rough, firm grip on the finish.
91 POINTS VINOUS
90 POINTS FALSTAFF
89 POINTS R.VECCHIONE WINE CRITIC
Rosso di Montalcino wine is obtained from the same vineyards as Brunello di Montalcino, as the producer can choose during the harvest and aging of the wine which portion of it to sell under this denomination, without waiting for the four-year period required by the Brunello Regulations. Rosso di Montalcino from Azienda Agraria Lisini is distinguished by its ruby red color and its intense and characteristic aroma. The flavor is warm and dry, slightly tannic.
The Lisini agricultural company covers an area of 154 hectares and is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, 8 km from it and 1 km from the hamlet of Sant'Angelo in Colle.
The very happy position of the vineyards, which extend for almost 24 hectares, associated with the excellent quality of the soil, allow for an exceptional quality of the grapes which produce one of the best Brunellos of Montalcino.
In particular, the vineyards open to the sea currents of the Maremma have a particular microclimate, extremely different from other areas of the municipality, consisting of reduced rainfall and absence of fog.
