Aromatically this wine is complex, with layers of rose petals, white flowers, dried stone fruits, white pepper, fresh herbs, and honeyed cream. On the palate the wine is full bodied and intense, with notes of dried apricots, candied citrus fruits, and a bracing flinty-ness. The product is beautifully cooper, extremely complex orange wine.

The XL is a Pinot Grigio made in the Ramatu style (long skin contact during maceration), which is followed by refinement in a combination of 80% in 20-hectoliter French and Slavonian oak and 20% in stainless steel.

Scarbolo is a family owned winery in the Fruili region of northern Italy. In 1960 Gino Scarbolo planted the first vines, and the winery has seen four generations of the family since. You can see the generations of wheels turning to keep the vineyard always progressing to make better wines on the label of every bottle of Scarbolo wine. Maturation: This bottle of 100% Pinot Grigios hails from grapes off of Scarbolo's oldest single vineyard site 'Mattia'. These vines are trained using the Guyot method and the Grapes are carefully hand harvested and hand sorted. . Wine is aged for 18 months on noble lees with frequent bâttonage. Bottled aged for 6 months.
