2019 Cascina Morassino Barbaresco Ovello 1,5lt.Mgnum
The 2019 Cascina Morassino Barbaresco Ovello 1.5lt Magnum is a rich garnet red wine with ruby hints, offering aromas of raspberry jam, wild rose, rubber, snuff, and liquorice. Established in 1984 by Mauro Bianco, the winery has a deep family winemaking tradition in the Ovello cru and is now run by his son, Roberto Bianco. The vineyard spans 4.5 hectares in the Ovello subzone and produces Barbaresco D.O.C.G. wine from Nebbiolo grapes, with a maximum yield of 80 tons per hectare and a minimum alcohol content of 12% Vol. This wine must age for at least 26 months, including 9 months in wood barrels, while a "Riserva" label requires 50 months of cellaring. It has excellent aging potential, lasting from 8 to 25 years. Tasting notes highlight its red-garnet color with orange highlights, ethereal and intense aroma, dry and full-bodied taste, and velvety texture with well-balanced tannins.
