2011 Marchesi Antinori Tignanello 0,75lt.
The 2011 Tignanello is an intense ruby red in colour with purple highlights. The wine is ripe on the nose with notes of dark fruit and with much underlying freshness on the aromatic finish; plum fruit dominates the aromatic gamut along with cherries, and the aromas evolve with vigour and balance towards sensations of mint and liquorice. On the palate, though still young, the wine is ready and inviting, rich and harmonious; excellent the balance of the flavours thanks to the tonic acidity and the solidity and suppleness of the tannins. The finish and aftertaste are rich and savoury and are characterised by a sweet persistence and length. This wine has received high praise, earning 93 points from Falstaff, 93 points from Wine Enthusiast and Vinous, and 92 points from Wine Spectator. The estate, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, spans 319 hectares, with 130 hectares dedicated to vineyards. Renowned for its influential wines, Tignanello is crafted from grapes grown in limestone-rich soils. The label, designed by Silvio Coppola in 1974, reflects the wine's prestigious heritage.
