2024 L LAC Lugana Cavalchina 0,75lt
The 2024 L LAC Lugana Cavalchina is a light straw yellow wine with green hints and citrus notes, showcasing fine mineral qualities and excellent balance. The vineyards are situated by Lake Frassino in the heart of Lugana, with vines trained in a double guyot system. The clay-rich soil contributes to high sugar content in the grapes. This wine represents the return of the Piona family to Lugana, honoring the legacy of grandfather Luciano, who originally bought vineyards and built a winery in 1948. Luciano was passionate about wine and had connections in the arts, even hosting Maria Callas. He also played a role in popularizing the white wine of the area, known as "Custoza," by creating a blend of Fernanda, Trebbiano, and Garganega grapes that gained recognition in major markets like Rome and Milan.
