Dark ruby red verging on garnet red; intense nose of ripen red fruits and vanilla scents. A rich and complex flavour with good tannic concentration, though soft and velvety. Long lasting persistence.
From the Etruscan and Roman peoples, who inhabited these places in archaic times, to the dominations of the Republic of Siena and the Grand Duchy of Florence in the Middle Ages, passing through the annals that record these lands as the abodes of the Knights Templar, to arrive until today following a single thread: the passion and the bond between man and the land that has seen and sees the valleys, around the village of Rapale, of the Valle d’Ambra as symbolic places of living in this part of Tuscany.
70 hectares of Mansalto vineyards grow in small plots surrounded by woods and fields, at an altitude perfect for modern viticulture, between 500 and 600 meters above sea level.
This location, made unique by a microclimate cooled by the contiguous woods and diverse soils rich in the Tuscan boulder, create a unique terroir that imparts minerality and all the characteristics necessary for perfect ripening of the grapes. Passion for the land.
Love for an ancient craft. Respect for the terroir, its identity, the distinctiveness of each vineyard. It is the result of constant dedication and care the wine that ages in Mansalto’s cellars, the child of grapes selected by hand, with passion and extreme care, by those who live this land, every day, and protect it, with sacrifice and dedication. An international team, which believes in quality wines and gives body to contemporary wines: this is the modern Chianti, which is distinguished by the freshness and personality of its nectars. The legacy of the transalpine experience thus becomes an expression of a renewed and strongly identifiable sensibility and taste.
Pairing Suggestions: Perfct and versatile for all meal use.
Maturation: Hand picked at perfect ripeness. Varieties are fermented separately into thermoregulated stainless steel tanks with a maceration period of 20-25 days. Once pressed and racked, they age for 12-18 months in French barrels and tonneaux before being blended and bottled on site.
