Pintia 2018 is the probably most vertical and fruitiest Pintia, but also has a lot of intrigue. This wine showcase remarkable intensity both in their colour and depth, displaying a cherry-red hue infused with hints of purple. The aromatic profile is expansive, exuding cleanliness, expressiveness, and elegance. A profound fruit essence envelops the senses, presented in a refined and high-quality manner. The wine's structural foundation is impressive, with notable tannins that grace the palate, and it culminates in a persistent, refreshing, and thoroughly enjoyable taste experience. A wine with a very silky texture that can be enjoyed now, but has an incredible finish.

The independent member of the Vega Sicilia family. Pintia is young, intense and ground-breaking in nature. Proud of its origin, it has managed to reinterpret the Vega Sicilia culture in an innovative, brave and daring manner, at the head of the emergence of a new generation of Toro wines.
Pintia lies on the banks of the Douro River, within the Toro D.O. region. The extremely cold winters and hotsummers influence its complex soils, which are mainly known for their significant pebble content. This means that finding the perfect harvest period is key to ensure the wine conserves both its fresh aromas and acidity.
Harvesting ran from 20 September to 7 October. A rainier vintage, which already looked very good during the grape skin tasting. Very fruity polymerised tannins; a vintage to undoubtedly enjoy during harvest. Our experience with the grape was reflected in the wine. A new production plant was used for the first time during fermentation, enabling even more precise work during extraction.
It was a very balanced year, with tenser wines, in which we increased the new barrel effect (5 %), while continuing to reduce the toasts in Toro.
Pairing Suggestions: Red meats especially beef and lamb
Maturation: Aged for one year in new American (70%) and French (30%) oak barrels.
