Luscious plum, cinnamon, wild strawberries with a ruddy cherry sweetness mark this excellent value Chianti Classico. The savoury fruit is well balanced and lifted by the piquant acidity. Elegant and lengthy in the finish. This red wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Fattoria di Rodano is found along a dirt track that leads from Valle dell'Elsa to Castellina in Chianti, a few kilometres from Monteriggioni, Siena and San Gimignano, locations of high historical and artistic interest.
It is difficult to find historical information on Rhone: the only knowledge comes to us in mediaeval times, when pilgrimages to Rome began, being very close to San Gimignano and Monteriggioni, located along the route of the Via Francigena.
In Rodano stood a Benedictine settlement, a place of reception for pilgrims who stopped there, and for the cattle they took with them in transhumance, crossing the hills in search of grazing.
