2015 Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella 0,75lt.
From the heart of Valpolicella Classica, a liquid legend unfurls. Quintarelli's 2015 Amarone is a symphony born of painstaking tradition – hand-harvested grapes, months of gentle drying, and seven years in grand Slavonian oak. This isn't just wine; it's a testament to Giuseppe Quintarelli's unwavering pursuit of excellence, a bottle that whispers tales of a master. On the nose, imagine dried figs and prunes dancing with tobacco and a hint of exotic spice. The palate is a lavish embrace of dark chocolate and roasted coffee, with tannins that feel like perfectly aged leather. It’s powerful, elegant, and finishes with a lingering, sweet warmth – a true benchmark, a treasured find.

The Quintarelli estate in the northern Veronese village of Negrar dates back to 1924 and was founded by Bepe’s father, Silvio. Bepe himself took over in the 1950s, orchestrating a quality revolution through his meticulous work in the vineyard and his uncompromising practices in the cellar. The result was wines of such hedonistic deliciousness that they became some of the most sought-after in Italy; those made before Bepe’s death in 2012 especially so. At the still family-run estate, Bepe’s legacy continues through his daughter, Fiorenza, along with her husband, Giampaolo, and their children.
