2018 Castello di Fonterutoli Siepi IGT 0.75lt
The Siepi 2018 shows bright ruby colour with a purple shimmer. Crispy notes of elder, plum, berries, sandalwood and tobacco. Very precise on the palate, showing tons of fresh black cherry. Polished with finely-woven tannin, smooth texture with a very long, bright finish.
95 POINTS Robert Parker Wine Advocate
94 POINTS Wine Spectator
97 POINTS Vinous
97 POINTS James Suckling
Siepi, located in Castellina in Chianti, owned by Mazzei family since 1435, has always been a model farm, still managed today with the same kind of respect. A unique location, a special microclimate, the foresight in the early 1980s to plant Merlot as the ideal grape to complement Sangiovese in a very particular "terroir" produce a wine which is perfectly balanced between elegance, power and complexity.
The wine has an ageing potential of 20 years.
