2016 Marco Bonfante Bricco Bonfante Barbera Nizza Superiore 0,75lt
The 2016 Marco Bonfante Bricco Barbera Superiore is a deep purple wine with violet reflections. It offers aromas of ripe cherry and plum, along with subtle wood notes. This rich, full-bodied wine has exceptional fruit concentration and a long, pleasant finish with gradual sweetness. Falstaff awarded this wine 93 points. The Bonfante family has been producing wine in Nizza Monferrato, Piedmont, for eight generations, specializing in Barbera d'Asti, which received the "Nizza DOCG" designation in 2014. Founded in 2000 by siblings Micaela and Marco Bonfante, the family-run winery focuses on elegance and balance in its wines. Marco, an oenology graduate, oversees production with help from a consulting oenologist and agronomist. The winery emphasizes harmony between structure, acidity, and alcohol, carefully selecting and processing grapes such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, Albarossa, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Brachetto. Aging in wood enhances the wine's structure without overpowering it.
