To the colour, it looks intense ruby red. The bouquet is intense and harmonious, of small black and red fruits, spicy notes of black pepper, cloves and flint. To taste it has good complexity, structure and persistence. Fine and elegant tannins, with freshness and balance.
The Le Falene project was born in 2016, with the acquisition for rent of the first vineyard parcel, but in reality it dates back to a few years earlier, when Vincenza Folgheretti, a young Sicilian consultant transplanted by choice in Tuscany, with experiences, among others, in Varramista, Tasca d'Almerita and Tenuta di Biserno, after graduating in Oenology at the University of Pisa, meets Massimo Casagrande, Agrotecnico with various experiences in the sector, from promotion to marketing, through the management of restaurants and wine bars, up to the first-hand management of important wineries such as Castellare di Castellina and Rocca di Frassinello.
Immediately the idea of building something together was born, which goes beyond the daily management and ideation of wines for other producers, starting from small parcels of vineyards in a state of seed abandonment or destined to become so, to be searched along the Tuscan coast, an area in which they reside and which they consider ideal to create what they have in mind.
Pairing Suggestions: To be accompanied by meat dishes and medium-seasoned cheeses.
Maturation: Maturation takes place in French oak barriques (225 lt.) for 10/12 months. A subsequent pre-refining in cement precedes the bottling, carried out without filtration.
