2012 Lopez Cristobal Seleccion
In the visual phase it presents a very intense and bright ruby red colour.
On the nose, very fresh fruity notes predominate that remind us of black and ripe red fruit (blueberries, currants and blackberries) along with other nuances in the background to spices and toasts of their ageing.
It has a warm mouth entry, with fine-grained and slightly astringent tannins. Its flavour confirms the pleasant notes of fruit and spices that we already perceive on the nose.
The passion for viticulture has been transmitted from generation to generation. "We firmly believe in the care of the vineyard as a sign of identity for the elaboration of wines with soul."
Currently the winery has 70 Ha. of its own vineyards in the terms of Roa and Pedrosa de Duero. Most of them, and those who give the identity, are from the Tinta del País variety. As a complement and to incorporate nuances there is Merlot and Albillo Mayor.
It was in 1994 when Santiago López managed to carry out the dream of creating his own winery. It all started much earlier, around the 30s, when his father, also called Santiago, started a new family project in the Ribera del Duero in the same place where the winery has been located today.
