2016 Francesco Rinaldi Barolo Cannubi Riserva 0,75lt
This drop-dead gorgeous wine opens with enticing aromas of rose petal, small red berry, new leather and pipe tobacco. Delicious and smooth, the elegant palate delivers juicy red cherry, spiced cranberry, licorice and cake spice alongside taut, polished tannins. It's well balanced and vibrant, with bright acidity.
97 POINTS WINE ENTHUSIAST
97 POINTS WINE ADVOCATE
95 POINTS FALSTAFF
94 POINTS ANTONIO GALLONI VINOUS
This historical vineyard, among the most esteemed in the Barolo area, features a mixture of Tortonian and Helvetian soils from different geological eras, imparting a unique complexity and richness to the soil. The high sand content gives the wine an intense bouquet which is fruity when it is young, but which develops spicier tones as it evolves.
A date, 1870, and a coat of arms engraved on a vault in the oldest part of the cellar in Barolo. An important starting point summarizing years of history, passion for the hills of Barolo, hard work and devotion to the land that has offered us so much. In the XIX century Giovanni Rinaldi intuitively understood the potential of this farmhouse on a hill planted with vineyards and decided to buy it. His children and grandchildren passionately guided the company handing it down generation after generation arriving at the current owners Paola and Piera Rinaldi. In those initial decades of wine making Barolo was the protagonist in our cellar, bringing together history and tradition. These two focal points were successfully introduced all over Italy by Michele Rinaldi, one of Giovanni’s four sons at the beginning of the XX century.
