2016 Conte Vistarino "Tavernetto" Pinot Nero
The 2016 Conte Vistarino "Tavernetto" Pinot Nero comes from a nearly 2-hectare Cru located at 400 meters above sea level, with a south/south-west exposure. This wine is deep ruby red with garnet reflections and offers a complex bouquet featuring aromas of violet, small red fruits, roasted coffee, and cocoa. It has an elegant, full-bodied taste with intact fruit, balanced mineral notes, and a long, spicy finish.
Count Augusto Giorgi di Vistarino first planted Pinot Noir in the Oltrepò in 1850, establishing a tradition of exceptional sparkling wines. The estate spans 826 hectares, with 200 dedicated to vineyards, including 100 for Pinot Noir, benefiting from a dry climate and natural biodiversity. In addition to Pinot Noir, the estate produces a variety of red, white, and rosé wines, as well as sparkling and sweet wines.
Villa Fornace, a beautifully preserved architectural gem with an English garden, serves as the heart of the estate. The winery, museum, and wine shop blend tradition with modernity. Under the guidance of Ottavia Giorgi di Vistarino, the estate continues to focus on quality and respect for the territory, honoring over 300 years of winemaking history.
