The Aglianico, also called ‘Nebbiolo del Sud’, is one of the most cultivated vines in the whole south, and especially in Campania it finds the ideal conditions to give unforgettable wines, such as the ‘Costa del Duca’, Beneventano IGT produced by Terre Stregate.
A late harvest that gives a very interesting concentration of scents, and that is really drunk with great pleasure. The grapes, once fermented and macerated, are matured for 18 months in both steel and wood, and then continue their maturation in glass. A gem not to be missed!
At the sight it comes in a ruby red hue. The olfactory test shows hints of berries, plum and blackberry, interspersed with tertiary hints of liquorice and spices. In the mouth it is soft, enveloping, warm, with a great balance. It closes with a finish characterised by a slight balsamic aftertaste.
Five generations and a strain that has its roots in the fertile soil of time. Our seed bears the name of Filippo Iacobucci. It was 1898. A man, a cellar and an oil mill. Then the 60s of the last century. Armando, son of Philip, passes the baton to his two sons: Charles and Philip.
Ours is an organic farm of ancient traditions. Gardens all around, our underground cellar of three thousand square metres and a tasting room where you can appreciate our wines accompanied by the typical local cuisine. Twenty-five hectares of vineyards processed as in the past and a microclimate that cradles the growth of native grapes: those of Sannio beneventano. Falanghina, Greco, Fiano and Aglianico.
