2016 Il Caberlot in Magnum is clear ruby violet with black core. Smells of freshly crushed pepper and cardamom, some ivy and in the background a lot of clove, dark berry. Wild and hearty on the palate, shows exceedingly lively, powerful, dense tannin, well integrated, very individual wine with wild spice. The Caberlot grape is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Merlot and has been cultivated exclusively at the Podere Il Carnasciale winery since 1986.
Recognized by leading wine critics, it has received impressive ratings: 97 points from Antonio Galloni, Raffaele Vecchione, Wine Spectator and Falstaff, 96 points from Robert Parker and James Suckling. This remarkable wine is a testament to the excellence of the Il Carnasciale estate.
